We brought Sabrina to Calvert Marina in Solomons, MD over our summer vacation. We wanted her to be at the Krogen Rendezvous in October and this was the best time to bring her. So, we’ve been coming to visit her over the weekends. Here are a few of the things we’ve done while we were there.
Kitty fished this like new dock pole out of the river! She used her lasso skills.

Meet Ester (two damaged wings) and Little Foot (one damaged wing), the resident geese at Calvert Marina. I do not know what happened to their wings. But, they do pretty well and they are seriously taken care of by the staff at the marina.

Saw this perfect sign on the back of a truck at the local restaurant. “Life is too short to have an ugly boat.” Perfect!

It’s a lovely view from the Marina.

Since we’re still weekenders and we have not completely stocked and provisioned the galley, we are eating out more often than grilling. That IS my story and I’m sticking to it!

One of the more social things about the boat life is docktails! Boaters often gather around on the dock with a cocktail and snack. It’s usually BYOB and sometimes a shared meal. It’s an opportunity to share boat tips and advice or reviews on marinas and anchorages.

“Necessity is the mother of invention.” What do you do when the cork comes apart but not enough to actually come out of the bottle of red wine? And you’re on the boat without the necessary wine tools? Remember we haven’t stocked the galley? You use a plastic iced tea pitcher and the metal coffee strainer. Viola! Like magic!

Yeah we know what docktail is really about!
