HELLO! Welcome to our blog. It’s written mainly for ourselves (to remember what we’ve done) and for our friends and family to see what we’re doing.
We purchased Sabrina in the Summer of 2016. Sabrina is a 1985 Kadey-Krogen Manatee. It was love at first sight.
We did a great deal of research on trawlers. We decided we wanted a centerline queen walk around bed (no V-Berths, please) and an overall boat length no longer than it has to be. The Manatee model was perfect at 36 feet.
When we found her, her name was Dream Girl. She was beautiful! But, she was 31 years old and she could stand a paint job.
We took that opportunity to lighten her color so she wasn’t so dark as a dark color will attract heat. We went with San Mateo Wheat. She spent the winter of 2016/2017 in Cambridge, Maryland at Yacht Maintenance Company. She was painted (AwlGrip), had her name plates changed (to Sabrina), her brightwork redone with AwlWood, had davits installed to hold the dinghy (which opens up the upper deck), a reboarding ladder on the stern, and a few minor mechanical changes.
WooHoo! Look at Sabrina now!
